KSFA Angling Doubles – Veterans George and Mary Vella win the Vittoriosa match

 The third match of the Kingfisher Sport Fishing doubles angling league was battled out yesterday in Birgu. 16 teams, spread in 4 different sections took part in the event.

 The VELLAS, with veteran team members George and Mary Vella won the event with 3.03kgs of fish. Team BOXING SHRIMPS composed from Alfred Cassar and David Tabone came in second place with 2.15kgs, while Alex Ciantar and Joe Schembri of team DUDA placed in 3^rd with 1.93kgs. George Vella also managed to net the fish of the day when he landed a rare rundunell weighing 0.580kgs.

It was quite a nice event as all pegs registered good catches.

A good number of breams, wrasses and other rock bottom fish were landed making up a total of more than 20kgs. All fish caught were kept alive and then released back after the match. The event was fully sponsored by Mister Fish outlets of Iklin, Gzira and Fgura.
