Match
Fishing-organizing points:
1.
Set up an organizing committee of 3 people and follow the listed points.
2.
Choose a venue, a stretch of comfortable rocks or port where you can
fish.
3.
Draw 3 marshals’ who will look after the match, one is elected chief marshal,
he is responsible for running the match. Then a marshal per ten competitors will
be needed to monitor that rules are observed, find rules attached.
4.
Decide duration of match, this is usually 5 hours starting at 6.00am and
finishing at 11.00am, or sometimes an evening match is preferred especially
during the hot summer months.
5.
Decide on the number of placing’s, that is 1st, 2nd and
3rd plus biggest fish together with vouchers.
6.
Meet at least once before match to explain rules, a copy should be given
to all participants.
7.
Always use catch and release during matches this will protect the future of our
sport and will educate others to use this motto also when pleasure fishing.
8.
Organisers to meet 1 hour before competitors to prepare fishing
positions, this is done by numbering positions. When all positions have been
prepared and all members present draw pegs by lot. Call name of angler and draw
number, that angler is to fish only from that position during the match.
9.
When all have been draw, prepare horn to start match at pre- determined time.
10.
At the end of the match all members are to remain at their positions until fish
are weighed and registered, this is very important.
11.
Presentation to be done at the end of match.
