FIXED
WAGGLER METHOD

|
This
method is used in shallow waters of around 4.5 to 5.00 meters deep,
covering distances up to 35 or 40 meters. The fish you can catch with this
method are mullet, bass, sargi and awart. Tackle:
A 5 meter, soft actioned telescopic casting rod is used together with a
small shallow fixed spool reel, front or rear drag is a matter of
preference. The spool is to be filled with dia 0.14mm monofilament. A
loaded waggler of 5 to 12 grams can be used, depending on wind conditions
and distance required. Method:
refer to diagrams 1&2. Set
up your line through your rod and attach a 12cm length of line dia. 0.14
about 20cms from the end of casting line, like you would when setting up a
paternoster rig. To the short end attach your float and to the other end
attach your swivel. To the other end of the swivel tie 4 mtrs of dia.0.12
or 0.10 mm line, plus a number 10 carbon hook to the other end of your
fine line. Place your split shot equally distance apart, starting at 30
cms from hook. Most good wagglers have the amount of split shot needed to
calibrate the float printed on the side of the float. When you cast always
sink the line so that the bait ( farka, sliced bread, shrimp or ckall)
always flows in the direction of the current. Good luck and Tight lines Steve
Johnston.
