How long have you been a paid up member with KSFA?

This is my second year as a paid up member of KSFA

Any Personal Records? Biggest fish caught?

My biggest fish were caught from Gozo. I was night fishing with 

John Attard when we saw some very big mullet swimming around. 

We managed to net three of them with the smallest just topping 2.5Kgs and 

the largest at a whopping 3.23Kgs.

How do you prepare yourself prior to an event/ competition? Bait, rigs?

I just make sure that I have a variety of bait ready and all my rods/lines in tip top shape.

Your favorite competition location? Why?

Gozo, because I caught my best weight there in a competition.

Your favorite “fun fishing” location?

That would have to be Senglea as I have never finished with a dry net there.

Your favorite fish? Why?

I think that Mullet gets my vote there, it’s a fish that leaves you wondering 

when and where you are going to catch it. I’ve fished in perfect conditions for mullet 

without netting any and the next day manage to net a few from crystal clear waters.

Your favorite fishing method?

I like to fish light with a float.

Favorite fishing equipment? Rods, hooks, monofilament, floats etc….?

I like to use Fly 8mtr pole with a nice fine Falcon line and Mustad hooks.

Your occupation when not fishing?

Manager at the Westin Dragonara Resort.

Other interests or hobbies?  

Apart from fishing I like to fish and fish and fi………..

What are your thoughts on the future of sport fishing in Malta?  

Basically I would like us to be able to participate in International Fishing Competitions but this might take a few years yet.

Describe your favorite fish story?

I can relate quite a few stories of my fishing adventures as for me every time I decide to go fishing it’s an adventure for me, but the one that really sticks out is when a few years back I finished work early and decided to take my eldest son fishing. We went to Anchor Bay and that day the westerly swells were coming in so hard that they were covering the quay there. I decided to try to fish since I driven all that way and managed to net 22 Gilthead Bream  of around 600gms each.
