Describe your favorite fish story?

Last year as I was fishing for mullet in Sliema I saw this big black fish coming in and attacking the Vopi. I got 3m of .12mm line, attached No 18 hook, put on a piece of farka and got a Vopa. I dropped it in the keep net, got my casting rod, with .20mm line, attached No2 hook, hooked the Vopa, and attached also a float about 2m high from the hook and let the bait swim freely. After about 5 minutes the Sawrella took the bait and I spent about 35 minutes fighting with this fish. As the fish was getting tired I tried to bring it in the net but with no avail. At the end I managed to get the fish by the shore, got my feet in the water and brought the fish up by my foot. It was a Sawrella tal-Imperial of almost 2.5KG.

At that instance I heard a big applause from behind me, looking back seeing a big crowed of tourists watching and asking questions re this big fish. For me it was a nice experience. In two weeks time I managed to land another 2 of this kind of fish weighing 1.5 and 1.3kg and an Accola of 1.7kg. I also managed to hook another 4 but this time the won as they got away.
